The condo looks like it was remodeled in the past few years, which is nice. The place is compact, but well laid out to not feel cramped. I stayed a week in July, when the weather was 100 degrees each day. The AC unit is in the bedroom with no direct cooling in the living/kitchen area. I wish there was a standing fan available to pull air from the bedroom to the living room because there was a dramatic temperature difference between the two. Although the living room was warmer than I would have preferred, it was still significantly better than the outside heat.
The kitchen is well organized and everything (microwave, oven, coffee pot, fridge) worked well and was easy to operate. The only negative was there was a bit of a sugar ant problem in the kitchen. Fortunately, they seemed confined to the kitchen as I didn't see them anywhere else. I used a bit of the bleach cleaner (provided under the sink) to kill many of them. For the most part, they weren't an issue and I didn't have any problem with them invading my food.
The washer & dryer are outside on the patio. Being from Oregon, this was unimaginable to me. The units are nice and worked very well when I did a load of laundry.
The condo is located in a nice are within walking distance of Winchell's, a local burger place, and a small grocery store. It's also just a five minute drive from Paseo Colorado.
Overall, I would recommend this place and would stay there again in the future.- Anonymous from Clackamas, Posted: 08/22/2016
Wonderful and warm.- Anonymous from Seattle, Posted: 05/01/2018
Ideally located to DTLA.
Walking distance to Old Town Pasadena and both Baja and Vallarta SuperMarkets.
Easy driving distance to both Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.
Comfortable bed and well laid out kitchen.
Clean, well stocked [bedding, linens, towels, plates, glasses and cutlery].
Responsive to emails regarding questions\issues.- Joe B. from Vancouver, Posted: 12/25/2019
I've stayed in my fair share of vacation rentals, and this one is a hidden jewel. Location, price, cleanliness - and staying true to the description were all right-on-the-mark. Very peaceful/quiet.
The 3rd party property management company is super detail-oriented, customer-facing, and professional.- Jimmy L. from San Jose, Posted: 03/26/2017
The Willows was perfect for me, and I'll definitely be back! This cozy cottage was clean and newly redone. The location was great, very close to my daughter, whom I was visiting, as well as walkable to Old Pasadena. I felt very welcomed with the basket of goodies that was waiting for me upon my arrival.- Linda C. from Ft. Lauderdale, Posted: 07/24/2016
We stayed in this apartment for 1.5 month and it was exactly what we needed. Very clean, very well equipped kitchen. The management company is very professional and very helpful. Safe environment. Thank you for the welcome basket ! Would recommend this property to a friend or family.- Anonymous from Laval, Posted: 08/19/2018
Right from the get go when we were inquiring about The Willows I received quick and complete responses to my questions. My contact person was very friendly and sent information requested about location. Our arrival began with a lovely welcome basket in the bright cheery kitchen. The Willows was all that we needed. Beautiful, shaded courtyard in a quiet neighbourhood. We needed walking distance to Old Pasadena/Convention Centre and it was a lovely 20 minute walk.We would definitely book at The Willows again for the friendly service, pleasant
location and clean inviting accommodation.- Linda I. from Edmonton, Posted: 03/15/2017
From outside it looks like nothing special, inside it is very pretty, good bed, the kitchen is perfect. A great place to stay and to have a little home. Very good service when you have a problem (thank you for the Starbucks Gift Card).- Patrick Z. , Posted: 05/05/2014
I have stayed at The Sycamore which is adjacent to The Willows on several occasions. The area was familiar to me. This location is only a mile from my daughter and family. It's very convenient to downtown, the Metro and Old Town Pasadena. The bungalow is very comfortable.- Sandra B. from Lynchburg, Posted: 07/07/2017
good location, convenient equipments, easy to talk with staff~

Our stay was very enjoyable. The bungalow was very clean, and well equipped. Thank you for the gift basket of wine, coffee, biscuits, chips and salsa. Great location and customer service.- Kathy V. from Canyon, Posted: 04/13/2017
This charming bungalow has been updated with new furniture and fixtures. The colors and artwork are wonderful! My daughter-in-law slept on the futon and she said it was comfortable, as was my bed. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The bathroom makes great use of limited space. I have stayed in another bungalow in the same complex 3 times, and wanted to see The Willows. Both are unique, comfortable and well stocked.
The location is fantastic for our family, but anyone would appreciate the ease on/off the freeways and major streets. Grocery shopping at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods covers all you need. Paseo Colorado has a wonderful theatre and superb dining. We went to The Huntington Library/Gardens twice - I'd go every day if I could! For a special treat, the Sunday Brunch at the Langham is a must do!I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.- Catherine S. from Seattle, Posted: 03/05/2016
Unit was very clean & well stocked with a comfy bed
in a quiet neighborhood. It’s located just under one mile from the Rose Parade route and stands. Worked out very well for us.- Ginny G. from Livonia, Posted: 01/05/2018
We stayed at "The Willows" for a month while we waited to move into our new home. The location was handy to the highways and shopping on S Lake Street. Located on a quiet tree lined side street. The bed was comfortable, bathroom very small, kitchen was functional but could use a restock of pots and pans, dishware and utensils. The living room was small and uncomfortable. Couch (futon) was very hard, table and chairs were child sized and wobbly, making working from home difficult, though the WIFI and TV were excellent.- Tom M. from Weymouth, Posted: 05/17/2022
Good location nice place to stay ! Only problem was the dishwasher was full of water that was sitting for a while but it worked fine!- Anonymous from Coconut Creek, Posted: 10/23/2015
We had a wonderful experience with the Willows. The apartment is in a very centralized location, is spotlessly maintained, and is close to everything we wanted to do in Pasadena. The amenities are exactly as advertised. I would definitely recommend this property to any friends or relatives. The managers could not have been nicer and more helpful. They responded to all questions immediately and thoroughly. Our favorite attractions in Pasadena are the Norton Simon Museum and the Huntington library and gardens. I would definitely recommend staying at the Willows if you are ever in Pasadena.- Anonymous from Sacramento, Posted: 11/13/2018
Very nice place to stay while in Pasadena. Close to downtown and the Rose Bowl. Clean, comfortable and everything you need. Would definitely stay here again / recommend to a friend.- michael a. , Posted: 05/24/2017
Very nice place, conveniently located but not in the best neighborhood. Stayed here for over 10 months and had no issues.- Robert H. , Posted: 07/17/2015
This property worked great for us. It is very clean and well equipped on the inside. The outside shared area could be cleaned up. The management company is great to work with. It was nice to have a parking spot but it was very hard to access because the spot before they tandem park 2 large cars. The location is OK, really not far from everywhere you want to visit in Pasadena but definitely not an area you would want to walk around in.- Anonymous from Phoenix, Posted: 05/09/2017
Nice Home
it was a very nice home. very close to every thing, yet very quite. Great stay- Andrew M from Panama City Beach, FL, Posted: 02/26/2022
Cute, cozy, perfect for 3 people, in quiet neighborhood. Clean with many amenities for cooking. Parking spot off the street. Modern, updated. Walk to local restuarants, grocery.- David B. from Willow Springs, Posted: 11/24/2016
Our week at the Willows was a pleasure. We liked the space, the location,
and the furnishings. The kitchen had everything you could need;
the bed was comfy and the washing machine and dryer were great to have. Vacation Rentals helped us immediately with any issues or questions (more towels, a missing waste basket), so we felt well
provided for. We would return to The Willows very happily for another
stay.- Anonymous from Suttons Bay, Posted: 03/25/2016
The Willows was just want we needed! The parking was easy, it was quite, and it was just a few blocks from a large grocery store and pharmacy, downtown Pasadena, and all the main freeways in the area. The two rooms were newly decorated and there was everything one might need (from detergents, to cooking tools and appliances, to beach towels). The customer service was great: they intervened the second I called them for help. The "problems" I deal with were rather trivial: one evening I couldn't operate the cable TV cause my kids had fiddled with the remote control; on another day, there was a small leak in the kitchen faucet, that was simply due to a loose piece in the top part of the fixture. In both cases they came over and fixed the problem. As a European, most of our clothes don't like dryers (they shrink like crazy!). It would be a plus to have a place to dry laundry in the back patio. Something really simple would do, like one or two old-fashioned lines hung between two hooks (fastened on the wall and fence) or something more modern, such a retractable one. Neighbors would not even see it. And it would also save energy!
As for restaurants in the Pasadena area, one of our favorites is Green Street (146 Shoppers Lane). They have some of the best salads in the area, but the entire menu is excellent.
I am sure we'll be back!- Anonymous from Milan, Posted: 07/16/2014
We found the bungalow to be absolutely what we needed! It was comfortable, clean, and fully supplied. Having close proximity to the Convention Center was wonderful. I will reserve it again on my next trip! Thanks for all the extras!- Deb K. from Sacramento, Posted: 02/28/2018
This is a nice place. They make great use of space - it is kind of like an Ikea mini-house show room inside. The living/room kitchen is about the size of a small garage that could fit a pair of priuses without too much room to get around them. I didn't really mind that except the pictures made it look much bigger to me. This I provide just for information, not a complaint.
My only complaint is the choice of living room sofa/sleeper. That thing is impossible to get comfortable on as a couch. You can't really sit back and watch TV the way it is intended. And it is only passable as a bed. I would replace that thing with a real futon couch and add an end table so you can relax with a drink. We ended up standing around to take our toast and coffee in the morning because that was better than trying to get comfortable on the "couch".- Anonymous from Ashland, Posted: 07/23/2015
We are renting this property for a whole year while my wife completes an internship at Pasadena City College.- Robert H. , Posted: 12/12/2014
I rented the Willows during an 8-week temporary work assignment. It was exactly as described and fit my needs perfectly. I brought my small dog and the neighborhood was very nice to walk around - felt safe even late at night. The off street parking is very convenient to have.(I have a very small car so the tandem parkers next to the assigned spot didn't bother me, but I can see that it would be difficult for some. Not really something the management has any control over though.) Washer/dryer, internet, cable, and kitchen appliances all worked without any problems. The kitchen is stocked like a typical short-term rental (plenty of corkscrews and wine glasses but not enough measuring cups or pans.) It's definitely workable. Don't count on sleeping someone on the pull out sofa, very very uncomfortable. You're better off with a blow up mattress. However, the bed is very comfortable and there are plenty of linens, pillows, etc. The management team always stayed in touch and were very prompt with any communications. I didn't have any problems during my stay, but I'm sure they would have responded to anything very quickly.- Anonymous from Houston, Posted: 05/06/2019
