We loved our stay! Worked for our family of 4 to walk to the parade, then the football game and back home. Cute IKEA-showroom with all the amenities we needed. Perfect!- Anonymous from Chicago, Posted: 01/04/2015
The apartment was perfect for our stay. Great location near downtown Pasadena, close to all highways. Easy parking, easy check in. Comfy bed, ample linens, and a lovely basket of snacks and wine when we arrived. Would happily stay again and would recommend.- Anonymous from Oakland, Posted: 06/09/2019
We were very happy with our experience at the Sycamore. The apartment was clean and well stocked and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to friends. The location is also excellent - very close to everything we wanted to do.- Anonymous from Sacramento, Posted: 10/11/2018
I had the occasion to live at The Sycamore for three months while I transitioned from Texas into a new job and ultimately a new home. I truly loved my stay there. It is exactly as advertised. The location cannot be beat with regards to being close to everything in Pasadena. The bungalow is clean and well maintained. It was perfect for what I needed. The hosts were very attentive to anything I needed, and accommodated my continuous stay extensions due to my house not closing on time.- Trent B. , Posted: 01/14/2021
Because our first stay here was so pleasant, we opted for the Sycamore again this year. Expecting the appliances to show a bit of wear and tear this year, we were pleasantly surprised to find everything again in tip top shape. The sinks/appliances still seemed brand new. The linens were much crisper/fresher this year, the towels thick but the pillows left something to be desired. We loved having a washer/dryer, dishes/pots, and bathroom supplies handy. One big reason for our return visit was Kathleen, the property manager. She was so helpful last year and continued to be extremely helpful and accommodating this year. Thank you, Kathleen. Needless to say, we had a great experience!- Anonymous from Lakewood, Posted: 05/10/2016
Considerately appointed with amenities galore. Off street parking was a pleasure. Very quiet. Close to public transportation.- Thomas R. from Asheville, Posted: 03/09/2015
The cottage was perfect for my dog and I, with all amenities available. It was especially helpful to have a private washer/dryer on site. The space is quaint and full of natural light and privacy.- Erin F. from Columbia, Posted: 04/02/2019
This is a great place, well maintained with everything you need for a visit. Very easy access to rose bowl and downtown Pasadena. Loved the patio. I had a great weekend here and would stay again.- Anonymous , Posted: 02/18/2015
We had a vey pleasant stay for 2 weeks in this Pasadena rental. It was clean, convenient, and cheerful. It was located near the places I wanted to visit, in a fairly nice neighborhood.- Leslie S. from Greensboro, Posted: 05/23/2019
This little bungalow is a hidden gem in the city. One of four bungalows around a courtyard, it is quiet and comfortable. My first impression was appreciation for how clean and fresh the bungalow was, with a lovely gift basket full of goodies. A full kitchen, laundry, private outdoor seating area, good light and a strong wifi signal, I enjoyed my time in the Pasadena area. Great for a couple or family with a small kid, I was happy to have found this spot and will definitely stay again!- Anonymous , Posted: 10/05/2020
Clean, quiet, comfortable! Exactly what we needed. Host was friendly and responsive. Would definitely recommend!- Christina B. from Irvine, Posted: 03/04/2022
Wonderful little bungalow in Pasadena with everything I needed for my stay. Full size stove for cooking, all the pots, pans and cooking utensils I needed to cook my meals at home. The bungalow is very close to Old Town and I found a great little bakery called Euro Pane I loved to go for a morning coffee. If you want a convenient, comfortable place to stay, this bungalow is a great choice. I highly recommend and hope to be back soon!- Anonymous from Turner, Posted: 04/06/2021
We stayed at the Sycamore bungalow for 12 days. Overall, the stay was great. The location is perfect - only a few minutes from everything - groceries, restaurants, and easy access to the freeway. We had everything that we needed in the house - dishes, cookware, (silverware could be improved on), and washer/dryer. The neighborhood is quiet and we had no issues.
My only complaint would be that the "couch" in the living room is a very uncomfortable futon. I know that it's an attempt to create another sleeping area, but maybe invest in a more comfortable mattress? I was recovering from surgery during my stay, so spent most of my time sitting there, and it was not at all comfortable!- Victoria B. from Alexandria, Posted: 08/13/2017
We were very pleased with our stay at the Sycamore. Kate made us feel so much at home by tending to every detail of our stay. The bungalow was warm, clean and inviting, and stocked with everything one would need. Beautiful, cheery paintings and bouquets made for a relaxing environment. And, most importantly, the bed was extremely comfortable. By car, every Pasadena site was a “stone’s throw” away, with Los Angeles easily accessible. We couldn't have asked for more.- CARY M. from ROCHESTER, Posted: 01/25/2018
We stayed in here when my daughter graduated from USC and was moving to Pasadena. Property was just as shown. Detailed binder had all of the information we could ever need about the property. A lovely basket of treats was waiting for us! When we started to make up the pull out for bed we realized we actually had only pillowcases. Owner popped over immediately to provide us with sheets and apoplgized. An extra added bonus was a washer/dryer on site. I would absolutely recommend this property!- Anonymous from Sycamore, Posted: 07/28/2017
Overall, the location and amenities of the property were good. However the picture on the site is a bit misleading. The unit is quite dark even on sunny days. Having better lighting would be beneficial.
The bed was wonderful.- Anonymous from tucson, Posted: 12/31/2019
Everything you need at your fingertips.- Anonymous from Naples, Posted: 09/16/2015
The rental was as advertised in the pictures and description. It was clean and appeared to be well-maintained. We had a slight issue with a pack-n-play not being there when we arrived, but the manager fixed the problem promptly and was generally very responsive. We stayed here for a wedding near the Rose bowl, and it was a quick drive to everywhere we needed to go in the area. I would recommend this property and would stay here again.- Ashley G. from Columbus, Posted: 12/17/2015
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the "Sycamore," just minutes away from Old Town Pasadena, and many other attractions. This is the second time I have stayed at the cottages, and will definitely be back! Our accommodations were clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and just right for what we needed. I would highly recommend the cottages! The property managers were very helpful as well.- Linda C. from Ft. Lauderdale, Posted: 09/29/2017
The property was accurately described. I was pleasantly surprised that all amenities were supplied! I didn't have to go out and buy toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee maker, toaster, flatware, etc. They also provided a dvd player, stereo and board games. There were maps with recommended things to do and restaurants in the area. The bungalow was neat and clean. There was plenty of drawer and closet space to unpack my suitcase. I loved the private sitting area out back. The location was excellent. It is just off Orange Grove and close to most everything you'd want. The management team of Kathleen and Helena were very professional and kept contact with me before, during and after my stay. I would definitely recommend this bungalow to everyone.- Sandra B. from Lynchburg, Posted: 07/01/2015
This place was exactly as advertised! Well stocked, very clean and the management was always ready to help. I would definitely recommend!- Russell W. from Shanghai, Posted: 01/13/2017
I have only been to Pasadena once before and so was not familiar with where to stay. We did not have a car and got around on foot. Once we figured out the buses (Metro and Pasadena Art) we were fine. Otherwise the location feels a bit isolating.
The staff were very helpful. I called because the ice machine was not working; they came the next day and left a bag of ice. They also emailed me the morning of the earthquake to check in.
The apartment is very well equipped, the bed was very comfortable and we slept well each night, we were there for 7 days. Around the corner is a great Mexican eatery, La Estalla, which is very reasonable and very good. I loved being able to sit outdoors (even though could oven hear the neighbor's washer and dryer).
We came to Pasadena because of Green and Green and were not disappointed. Great getaway from a very long winter in Wisconsin- Anonymous , Posted: 04/17/2014
This property is a great value! My teenage daughter and I stayed here 5 nights while she was doing a camp at LACM. Everything was newly renovated and very comfortable. We didn't hear any noise from neighbors or the street, except birds. The decor is stylish. Property management was very professional. Would definitely recommend!- Anonymous from Lexington, Posted: 07/02/2017
We loved The Sycamore!!! The location was perfect & convenient for our needs. Close to downtown Pasadena with a nice fenced yard. The unit was very clean & cozy. It had the basics for cooking and living!!! We will definitely rent from this company again. Everyone was lovely, helpful & professional. Highly recommended!!!- Anonymous from Evergreen, Posted: 12/14/2017
We felt very at home and fortunate to have found such a great place!! Before arriving I was concerned the space might be too small, but it was perfect. I appreciated the attention to detail in each room. The location was perfect and we traveled on foot most places. If I decide to visit Pasadena again, I wouldn't hesitate to book The Sycamore!- Mary L. from Boise, Posted: 07/11/2018
A lovely, small bungalow, very compact, with everything you might want to use in the kitchen. Tastefully decorated and furnished. No problem sleeping, quiet at night. Near Playhouse and Historic Districts, also not far from freeway. Walking distance to grocery and restaurants. We enjoyed our visit and would stay there again!- Anonymous from Seattle, Posted: 09/02/2016
We had a great experience at The Sycamore! We felt that the location was very convenient for the events that we wanted to attend for the Rose Bowl and to Downtown Los Angeles.- Lisa J. from Pella, Posted: 01/21/2016
We were in the area for three days and the Sycamore was exactly what we needed - would definitely stay here again in future visits. Thanks!- Anonymous from Waltham, Posted: 03/05/2018
Wonderful- Anonymous from Seattle, Posted: 04/10/2017
The bungalow is the perfect stop for people visiting the city on business, vacationing, etc. provides for all basic needs, close to transportation, quiet get away. One thing whoever visits CA or the Pasadena area, bring your own reusable bags to shopping.... stores will charge for them.- Patricia W. from Fort Wayne, Posted: 11/17/2017
My husband and I stayed at the Pasadena Bungalow for 6 nights in May 2016. It most definitely met our 3C requirements: Clean, Comfortable, Convenient. The location is wonderful. 5-7 minutes to Gamble House, Norton Simon Museum & downtown Pasadena with all its great restaurants; 11 minutes to Huntington; 20 minutes (35 with traffic) to Universal Studios. There is a small supermarket and burger place within 3 blocks - an easy walk even for those who do not like walking. We loved the location - so close to everything we wanted to see. The bungalow was squeaky clean. The house book which explains where everything is and how to use it is very helpful. All the appliances worked well. The nice size TV with HD channels & DVD were great. Having a full size washer/dryer was super helpful. Toaster was wonderful - perfectly toasted bagels each time. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking/eating utensils, paper towels, dish soap, new sponge, cooking oil, spices, etc. Plenty of towels in the bathroom - we did not even use them all. I really liked being able to open windows for fresh air in each room, and the sheer curtains for privacy during the day and drapes for privacy at night are really nice. Plenty of storage place. The mattress was wonderful. We slept great all 6 nights. The only thing I did not care for was the height of the bed, which is the modern, high style. It's very stylish, but can be imposing to a 5'4" person. However, I got used to getting up and down it, and we enjoyed really good sleep on that wonderful mattress. The pass code lock was easy to use. We appreciated the lovely gift basket of goodies we found on our arrival. The manager responded very quickly to the one question we had after our arrival. Overall, we were VERY happy with everything and plan to stay here again on our next trip to Pasadena. We really enjoyed our trip and our stay at this bungalow.- Anonymous from San Diego, Posted: 05/31/2016
The unit was clean and tidy. Conveient to shopping and resturants. Quiet, Laundry facilities, Off Street Parking. Enjoyed our stay- Frank B. from Anderson, Posted: 03/13/2015
We rented the Sycamore in Pasadena while we were out there to attend a UCLA football game. The rental was perfect for us and very well located. We found many things to do within walking distance (including the football game at the Rose Bowl).- Elaine B. from St Cloud, Posted: 11/26/2017
My wifeet, our 2 boys and I highly recommend the Sycamore. It is nicely located in a quiet part of Pasadena. Very clean and well furnished. We found everything we could need. Safe driveway for the hire car. Very friendly and helpful owner.- Jean-Patrick F. from northampton, Posted: 08/31/2014
This was a business trip for myself.
A lot less expense than a hotel.- Tony C. from Statesboro, Posted: 04/30/2017
Upon arrival there was a “snack box” with chips, salsa, cookies, coffee and wine provided, which I thought was a very nice touch. Having an access code instead of a key for the door was extremely convenient and less hassle than having to remember to take, and carry around, an additional key. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels which I really appreciated. I wish there was a TV in the bedroom but it really didn’t make that much of a difference for the few nights that we were there. Bottom line is, I would rent this apartment again.- MaryAnn B. from Valrico, Posted: 05/05/2016
Comfy bungalow, well equipped and near all the activities of Pasadena and downtown LA. Quiet and safe. One caveat: DAMAGE PROTECTION FEE AND CLEANING FEE ARE NOT REFUNDABLE, so figure that into the overall cost. It added 20% to the cost of our rental.- Anonymous from El Dorado Hills, Posted: 04/27/2017
This rental was very clean and cheerful. A great home away from home. It was in a convenient location to all things Pasadena and as a single woman I felt safe there and appreciated the parking space. The manager was very attentive and gave excellent recommendations for local eateries.
There was a bit of a learning curve with the television ( watched my iPad instead) and the air conditioning wall unit ( I’m not too mechanical!) but it all worked out.- Anonymous from Clinton , Posted: 08/21/2019
Was impressed with the condition, amenities of the property. There was nothing we could have wanted for cooking, cleaning, bathing, etc. in terms of appliances. Very much appreciate the welcome basket of snacks and wine.
Found it a little difficult to find the property and parking while arriving after dark, but once inside, we were comfortable.
While the unit was lovely and well-appointed, we did find that the close proximity to noisy neighbors with kids was a little distracting. We were not disturbed overnight.- Anonymous from Saint Paul, Posted: 01/22/2016
I stayed at the Sycamore in late September into early October. The bungalow was great. Everything you need is there. I use HomeAway often and can appreciate the attention to detail in the home. From the welcome guide, to a stocked kitchen and the toiletries you would forget like q-tips. I would definitely stay again when in the Pasadena area.- Anonymous from Freehold, Posted: 10/13/2016
The property was well-equipped and comfortable for our week long stay. I was most impressed by the property manager, Kathleen. She was so responsive to my requests - efficient and pleasant. A very nice gift basket awaited us which was a welcomed and pleasant surprise. I was also surprised at all the kitchen and bathroom supplies provided: from pots and pans, spices, cleaning items to paper towels, garbage bags, body wash, shampoo and hair dryer. A very comfortable stay.- Anonymous from Lakewood, Posted: 05/08/2015
Comfortable, quiet, well suited for a single couple and with most/all of the typical daily necessities. Parking off the street a great extra. We would stay again if in Pasadena for business or pleasure.- Jim L. from San Anselmo, Posted: 03/21/2018

Ideal Home
We were between homes. Katy’s place was an ideal spot. Loved the outdoor sitting area.- Sara B from West Hollywood, CA, Posted: 02/26/2022
Everything was very good. But it was not within walking distance to Old Town for that area.- Joseph S. from North Charleston, Posted: 07/31/2017
We can recommend this apartment without hesitation. It is comfortable, attractive and lacks nothing. The management were attentive and helpful. Pasadena is a five minute drive, and only slightly longer to the Gold Line station car park at Del Mar, the Norton Simon Museum and he Huntingdon Library.- Anthony C. from London, Posted: 03/03/2016
Upon arrival, we discovered there were no sheets for the second bed, despite making a reservation for 3 people. Sheets were brought, and we made do, even though the sheets were too large. The A/C was inadequate, running constantly, but cooling ineffectively. I could find no soap for the shower. Finally, I found some body wash on a cupboard. This unit might be OK for a couple, but was uncomfortable for an adult and 2 children. To be fair, management did try to deal with the problems.- Anonymous from Rancho Santa Fe, Posted: 08/14/2014
I enjoyed this unit with two kids. It was very convenient and clean. Also host was kind and very thoughtful. They made me feel free to talk with e-mail. They often asked me that double check my questions and requests. Thanks for your kindness!- Jungwon K. from Seoul, Posted: 07/11/2017
We had a great stay in Pasadena. We enjoyed walking to the Old Town and there was a great Mexican supermarket close by. It was lovely to receive a welcoming gift basket with wine and we really appreciated Kate's assistance with extending our booking and ensuring we were settled in and comfortable.- Theresa B. from Castor Bay, Posted: 11/10/2016

I have stayed here before. It's a very comfortable bungalow. I love the location. It's close to so many things. It was clean and well maintained.- Sandra B. from Lynchburg, Posted: 11/27/2016
This cozy house had absolutely everything you might need, from a complete kitchen with a dishwasher to a separate laundry room! I was inbetween houses and stayed for 28 nights. I brought a lot of stuff with me including 1/2 of my office! There was a place for everything. It is very clean and Kate was really great to work with. Also, close to so many things. I hightly recommend!- Ellen C. from Tujunga, Posted: 10/02/2019
This rental feels like home. Perfect place for single or couple. There is a fenced in yard and easy access to shops/restaurants/nightlife.- Erin F. from Columbia, Posted: 12/31/2018
I stayed for two months.
This cozy 1 bedroom apartment was near Garfield Heights, which is known for its charming bungalows. And close to shopping/dining districts as well as the center of town and Colorado Boulevard.
The unit was cozy — living room and table for two dining area all combined. But it was immaculate and a nice basket of goodies was there on my arrival.
The kitchen was also immaculate and well appointed with a coffee maker and toaster, and also had a good assortment of pots and pans, cutlery, glasses and plates, utensils. But there were no placemats or dish towels or scissors, so I bought my own.
My only real quibble was with the heating system. During my two-month stay, the temperatures were in the high 30s and low 40s at night. There was only one HVAC unit in the apartment and it was in the bedroom. So the kitchen and living room/dining room and bathroom would get quite cold. The ceiling fan in the bedroom helped push some heat into the other rooms.- Christina E. from Eatontown, Posted: 04/20/2023
My husband and I, along with our college aged son and his girlfriend stayed in the Sycamore while visiting our daughter over Thanksgiving. We found the rental to be clean and comfortable for our needs. It was a bit tight for four adults, but it was okay because we are family. It would be perfect for two adults with younger children. The location was great! Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The outdoor space for nice for sitting in the morning with coffee, or in the evening. We didn't use the grill, but it looked nice. We did make use of the washer and dryer. Owners were easy to work with and timely with their email/text replies to any questions we had before and after. Our favorite restaurants were Kabuki (sp?) for sushi and Mike and Anne's for great breakfast and Bloody Mary's. Barneys Beanary was also good. Ralph's Grocery story was great.- Anonymous from Franklin, Posted: 11/29/2016

Needed ready access to campus for reunion events; this lovely gem is the nicest we've stayed in (and we rent with HomeAway often). From the welcome wine (a nice cab), salsa, chips and cookies to the cottage cheese/strawberry topping single packs in the frig, they supply everything you need to get started. Bed is comfy, towels fluffy, shower pressure good. Would easily house family of four with living room futon. Excellent communication by Vacation Living. Highly recommend.- Kathryn G. from Crystal Lake, Posted: 05/23/2017
Property is identical to what is presented in pictures. Very clean and kitchen very well furnished. Very comfortable bed. Property management easy to reach and very friendly. Neighborhood sometimes loud (music, helicopters at night) but no safety issues. Private parking much appreciated. Very well maintained courtyard. Will rent again !- Anonymous from Laval, Posted: 06/15/2018
